1: Aly Bain & Phil Cuningham open air picnic concert at Banchory. 30th August - 4th September: Lismore Fiddle Week with Mairi Campbell. Come and spend five days on the Island of Lismore and give your fiddle playing a boost! This course will suit anyone keen to develop their playing: Whether you want help with technique, broaden you repertoire, get up to speed, improve your tone or meet other fiddle enthusiasts, this course is for you. 15-19: Dunkeld Bridge Fiddle Week. 10-16: Carrying Stream. Hamish Henderson, the great folklorist, songwriter and poet, died in 2002. Since that year, Edinburgh Folk Club has, every November around Hamish’s birthday, organised a gathering of musicians, singers, poets and storytellers to celebrate the life and legacy of that great man.
