Raemond Jappy

Raemond Jappy was born in the Coastal Town of Buckie in the North East of Scotland and moved to neighbouring Findochty at an early age, where he received his first few violin lessons with the highly regarded fiddler, James Alexander, at the village school. On leaving school, Raemond went to the University of Aberdeen where he studied Accountancy with Music, graduating in July 2006 with first class honours. Whilst at university, Raemond received fiddle lessons from Paul Anderson (past Glenfiddich winner) and since graduating has received further invaluable insight into the "North east Style" from Douglas Lawrence, highly regarded as one of the country's finest exponents in recent years.

Raemond is a Glenfiddich Fiddle Champion, having won the most prestigious competition at Blair Atholl Castle in October 2008.

Maureen Rutherford

Originally from Keith, Maureen was educated at Keith Grammar School, then at the University of Aberdeen. She graduated with a Bachelor of Music (Hons) in performance, her piano tutor being Dr. Roger Williams.

Maureen then undertook a post-graduate year at Dundee College of Education in order to become a music teacher. After a long spell as a Principal Teacher of Music in a Dundee school, as well as examining for the Scottish Qualificions Authority, Mo decided to revert to teaching piano and performing full-time.

In addition to playing the fiddle in a band with her hisband, accordionist Neil Copland, Mo travels all over the world in her capacity as Music Director for the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society. She also plays violin in Perth Symphony Orchestra and is well respected throughout the country and abroad as a performer, tutor, arranger and adjudicator who enjoys performing many different styles of music.
