| Bachue Cafe - Bachue Café [CD] | ![Bachue Cafe - Bachue Café [CD]](hrmcd001.jpg) | Led by harp player Corrina Hewat - Young Tradition Award finalist. "The hypnotic harp of Corrina Hewat gently draws you into this album, and all of a sudden you find yourself in the midst of "Morrison's jig". The surprises don't end there. A first glance at the track list lulls you into a false sense of familiarity - "Heard it, played it, sang it..." They're all here "Ale is Dear, Roslin Castle, Hag with the Money" and that's just the tunes. "Waltzing for dreamers, Auchindoon, Icarus", no, no surprises here, at least that's what you think until you listen to it... The music on this album is a joy. A fusion of many aspects of folk and jazz..... The album is a magical blend of the familiar and the exotic....As I listened I found myself grinning at the CD player... If you take a chance on something new this year, make it Bachué Café!" The Living Tradition. |

| Duncan Chisholm and Ivan Drever - Long December Night [CD] | ![Duncan Chisholm and Ivan Drever - Long December Night [CD]](HRMCD011.jpg) | A gorgeous album with some really smooth fiddle playing from Duncan, and entrancing guitar from Ivan who sings his own songs too. Traditional in style, superbly clear, with a clarity of energy not often heard. Duncans fiddle playing is husky yet melodious, and Ivan provides the most sensitive backing. Ideal for any long night any time of the year. |

| | Iain Anderson - Silver Strings [CD] | ![Iain Anderson - Silver Strings [CD]](HRMCD014.jpg) | Sumptuous slow airs, jaunty jigs, full-bodied rampant reels and a seditiously seductive waltz all flow from the curvetting bow of supremely accomplished young Edinburgh fiddler Iain Anderson. |

| | Scottish Reflections [CD] | ![Scottish Reflections [CD]](SCMG101CD.jpg) | Gorgeous, gentle, genuine arrangements of frequently hackneyed Scottish favourites. Leading traditional musicians play William Jackson's superb arrangements and give back to these much-loved tunes their own integrity and harmony. Haunting whistle, enchanting harp, sweeping strings. Still suitable for coach tours, but also for real music lovers too! William Jackson (gut harp, wire harp, whistle, piano), John Martin (fiddle, viola), Iain MacInnes (Scottish smallpipes, Highland pipes), Billy Ross (guitar). |

| | Alpha Munro - Stars In The Wave [CD] | ![Alpha Munro - Stars In The Wave [CD]](fdmcd1.jpg) | A gorgeous, gentle fiddle album of rippling tunes and sparkling accompaniments. Alpha is well-known as a fiddle teacher, and much involved in the feis movement. These and other aspects of her life are implicit in this album of her tunes. The aesthetic clarity of the accompanying booklet and the apparent simplicity of the written tunes would inspire even a beginner to make a sensitive attempt at Alpha's music but it is her own delicate and decidedly feminine touch that lifts this album far above the average fiddle C.D. Alpha, who also plays piano, is joined by Mike Simpson (guitar, mandola), Mandy Darling (whistle) & Alan Harfield (flute). Mike wrote one of the tunes, for Alpha, but the rest are all of her own composition. An inspirational listening album "sensitive, lyrical and intensely personal". |
