Jenna Reid

Taught by some of the greatest names in Shetland fiddling, Dr Tom Anderson MBE and Willie Hunter, Jenna Reid has appeared all over the world with popular groups such as ‘Filska’, ‘Deaf Shepherd’ and ‘Dochas’, winners of ‘Best Up and Coming Band’ at the 2004 Scots Trad Music Awards.

Since releasing her debut solo album in 2005 and being awarded ‘Best Up and Coming Artist’ at the 2005 Scots Trad Music Awards, Jenna Reid has undoubtedly remained one of the brightest young talents ever to grace the traditional music scene.

Jenna has performed with the ‘The Unusual Suspects’, ‘The Finlay MacDonald Band’,amongst many other artists in the Celtic Music scene. Jenna was invited to perform on the sound track for the first ever Gaelic feature film, ‘Seachd’.

In 2007 Jenna’s band performed at the Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow, premiering a six-piece band especially for the event. Jenna toured with Julie Fowlis as part of the Tune Up Scheme, featuring both bands as they performed throughout Scotland. Following this Jenna embarked on her first British tour alongside musicians from England and Wales. The ‘Three Countries Tour’ showcased music from the three traditions of Scotland, England and Wales.

Since releasing her debut solo album and being awarded ‘Best Up and Coming Artist’, Jenna has undoubtedly remained one of the finest young players ever to grace the traditional music scene. Following the success of her first album, Jenna was invited by Aly Bain and Jerry Douglas to perform on the third and fourth series of the Transatlantic Sessions.

Nominated as ‘Best Instrumentalist’ at the 2007 Scots Trad Awards, Jenna’s career continues to go from strength to strength.
