Graeme Mackay

Graeme is Tom Mackay's son. Graeme has been playing with the Jim Mackay's Dance Band for 6 years. Although he played in Meoran Ciuil with his brothers Alan and Stephen from 1995. as well as playing in the band, he follows a solo career, being resident accordion player in the Cairngorm hotel in Aviemore for three years and a resident spot in Tulloch Castel Dingwall every Saturday night, he is also available for other events. Having had a midi system fitted to his left hand, it makes playing solo that wee bit easier and less bare. He also plays the bass part of the band except when Nick is playing some of the modern music. He has also recently started teaching the accordion.

Graeme has also been the senior Scottish champion at Musselburgh 2002 and won many button box trophies. More recently winning the button box trophy at musselburgh for the 7th time and getting through to the finals of the open chamionship 2006.

Graeme is a full time musician.
