Children's Songs And Rhymes

A collection of children's songs and rhymes gathered over three decades - 1951 to 1981 - by the School Of Scottish Studies. Old folks and young are recorded, in Scotland and in Scottish populations abroad, illustrating an oral tradition which spans many centuries and encircles the globe. The accompanying booklet provides the transcript and brief information about each rhyme or song, and in some cases details the actions to go with the words.
