Benachally Ceilidh BandThe Benachally (Ben-a-kally) Ceilidh Band is a lively and enthusiastic Scottish ceilidh band featuring highly experienced and versatile musicians based in rural Scotland. Consisting of two fiddles, accordion, banjo, drums and guitar, they play a refreshing mixture of Celtic music predominantly from Scotland and Ireland for dancing. The band were formed in 1997 and feature former members of bands such as Silly Wizard, Capercaillie, The Dougie MacLean Band, An Teallach, The Loose Moose Ceilidh Band and Heritage. Between them they boast numerous BBC Radio Scotland broadcasts such as Take The Floor, Travelling Folk, Mr Andersons Fine Tunes and the Reel Blend.
The band are in big demand at ceilidhs, Scottish weddings, folk festivals, Burns suppers, St Andrew's celebrations, corporate functions and Scottish nights throughout Scotland and beyond - distance is no object! The band are regular visitors to far away places such as Norway, The Bahamas, Sweden, Lithuania, Wales, Ireland and England where they entertain with dances from Scotland, Ireland, England, America and Bohemia!
